Where has the time gone?

While I am sitting here by the window listening to the rain fall, I realized that I have not touched this blog since maybe March; earlier than that probably. I will think of something interesting to write about soon.

Iphone coming to Verizon; who cares. It isnt better than Android.

Rumor has it that Verizon has this BIGFOOT sized announce they are making tomorrow and it involves the Iphone. Over the past year or so there have been talks about the possibility of Verizon carrying the Iphone and they always retracted the statement. This time it looks like it is true.

Now everyone that has Verizon is all excited because they finally get to have an Iphone. Truth be told, almost every phone that Verizon currently holds or will be getting in 2011 will be 10, maybe even 20, times better performance wise than the Iphone. I have asked a few people why they would get the Iphone if it were to come to Verizon and their response was, "Because it is an Iphone." o_0. I just shook my head. Getting an Iphone because it is an Iphone is the most idiotic reason anyone could give. I think if you are going to shell out close to 300 dollars for a new phone, you should have a better reason for purchasing it.

Many people fail to realize is that just like every other Apple product, everything has to revolve around Apple and their money hungry company. Unlike with Google and Android phones, you will not be able to have all of the freedom of making any kind of changes to your phone such as rooting, custom roms, adding video console emulators, etc UNLESS you do what they call JAIL BREAKING the phone. Jail breaking takes time, patience, and knowledge of the OS and most people that will purchase the Iphone will not know how to do it. Your phone will only be able to do what Apple wants it to do and I think that is a bunch of bull. If I pay a lot of money for a phone and I own it, I would like to customize it the way I want to without having to go deep into the OS of the phone and make changes. It shouldnt have to be that way. Another issue, the Iphone will never get Flash because Steve Jobs hates Adobe, so you will not be able to view a lot of websites on your phone. There will be no making customized ringtones or using any other music players other than Itunes. Apple wants to keep all of the money for themselves and not allow any third party developers to have any part in making anything for the phone. That leaves the phone to eventually become boring.

The upside to Verizon getting the Iphone is the phone will now be on CDMA and not GSM with a better carrier which means bad news to AT&T. Since AT&T already has beyond shitty service, many of their customers that hold the Iphone might decide to take their business to Verizon. Unless they are devoted customers (I dont know why).

Also, remember the antenna that is on the Iphone 4. You know the one that kept making the calls drop when you held your phone the proper way. Well they have fixed that on the phones that are coming to Verizon. Isnt it funny that they didnt want to fix the antenna on the AT&T phones?

I hope those of you who do go out and purchase an Iphone for Verizon will be satisfied. I have a feeling that some of those that get the phone without doing research on it will soon see how much of you will be on lock down with it.

Myself on the other hand will still have fun playing Super Mario World on my phone. For free and without jail breaking.

Promises and resolutions are one in the same.

I have been really slacking on updating my blog.

It is 2011 people I have to start doing better!! lol.

Anywho, yes...it is now 2011. I hope everyone has had a safe and blessed holiday season and ready to start the new year off on a healthy and positive note. I have never been one to make a bunch of resolutions of what I am going to do or not going to do. What I do is just keep living my life right. If I am already on the straight and narrow and heading in the right direction there is no need to change paths right. Now I know there are some things that I could be doing better, but I am going to just take care of those along the way. Im not going to say I am going to go on this big diet exercise kick because I know and everyone else knows that isnt me. Its no need trying to make unrealistic promises to yourself when you know you are not going to keep up with them. Thats a waste of time. Just keep things simple. Take whatever you are already doing correctly and expand on them. Bada bing. Bada boom.

I already have plans for 2011. Fun stuff. Lots of traveling that includes food. Awesomeness. Stay tuned.

In the midst of the sudden and recent passing of Teena Marie, I will leave you with one of my favorite tracks by her.

Nearing the end of 2010...a recap.

2010 is about to come to a close.

Can you believe it?

It seems like I was just in my friend Sasha's living room, playing Rockband with my soon to be boyfriend, and bringing in the new year. Now it is almost Christmas and we will be bringing in 2011 soon after that.

Back when I was in college and using Xanga as a blog editor, I use to do a recap of the year highlighting the highs and lows of the year. I usually touch of the subjects of fashion, food, entertainment, what have you. It use to give my friends a laugh, but also touching, so Imma attempt to make this as informative and entertaining as possible.

There are 2weeks left in the year, so there could be more interesting things that 2010 can still bring. If so, I will update this post. Until next time, here is one of my favorite Christmas songs.

New York...New York

This past weekend took a fabulous journey to New York City. I went there in March of 2005 and it was nice, but I really did not enjoy myself as much because it was cold and snowy. Also, I couldn't do much being only 19 years old. This time I went with some fantastic people and was old enough to experience more.

Still full of vibrant colors and liveliness, Times Square has to be one of the most fast paced places of business. Everywhere you turn there is a clothing store, a restaurant, a side shop, or someone in the streets hustlin'. It is definitely one area where you can never...or should never...say that you are bored. One thing I like about it is that all of the stores go to the extreme and are larger more exclusive versions of what you would see in malls. The Forever XXI has 5 floors and makes what we have look terrible. All of the stores are like that. If you want a good shopping experience...that is one place to start.

And the food...

OMG...sooo many places to eat. The only thing that is saving people that live in Manhattan from getting plump is that they walk alot. Within one block I counted 20 restaurants and thats not to mention food trucks and stands. I was in heaven of course, but I did good. I only went to one restaurant (Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.) and a deli that had .99 slices of pizza.

Can't wait to go again!

Maestro...music please...
